For helpers tired in a way rest doesn’t fix.

The Weight

That Isn’t Yours.

A 4-minute self-check for helping professionals and family caregivers who quietly hold everyone else.

12 honest questions. Three sections. One clear answer about what you’re actually carrying — and where to set it down first.

This isn’t for everyone tired. It’s for a particular kind of tired.

If you’ve spent years holding presence for people in pain — clients, patients, family members, congregants, students — you know there’s a kind of exhaustion that doesn’t come from working too many hours. It comes from absorbing.

You can take a vacation and still feel it. You can sleep eight hours and wake up tired. You can do the “self-care” things and they don’t actually fill you back up.

That’s because the cup isn’t empty. The cup is full of things that aren’t yours.

This self-check is built for that specific load — absorbed emotion, vicarious trauma, the patterns running beneath your conscious mind. The kind of weight that doesn’t respond to longer baths and earlier bedtimes.

What this self-check actually does

  • Shows you how much you’re actually carrying — past the symptoms you’ve learned to ignore.

  • Identifies the kind of weight it is — absorbed emotion, internal patterns, depletion, or all three.

  • Lands you in one of three score ranges — so you know where to start, not just that something’s off.

  • Points to one honest next step. Not another self-care list. Not a productivity hack.

Who built this

I’m Afua Tiah — a Transformational Facilitator working with therapists, nurses, doctors, coaches, social workers, first responders, and the family caregivers who hold their communities together.

For over twenty years I’ve worked at the intersection of mindset, energy, and emotional restoration — first as someone who needed her own healing, then as a practitioner who has guided hundreds of people back to themselves.

I built this self-check because most helpers don’t know what they’re actually carrying until someone shows them.

One small step toward setting it down.

The self-check takes four minutes. It’s free. There’s no judgement.

Just a clearer picture of what you’re carrying — and a starting place if you want to put it down.
